SHOUT BOX!

Did you receive any new-year presents? I guess I am one of those lucky ones who got one from my mum.

Before I flew back to Singapore from home (for those who don’t know me well – I am from Hong Kong, where Disneyland is), my mother gave me an OSIM I-Tango massager as a new-year present. It is supposed to be a showroom product, hence it looked quite old but of course, she claimed that it is still functioning. My mother was ecstatic because she managed to buy it at a 70 percent discount.

When I came back to Singapore, I was so involved in work and meetings that I forgot about it, until yesterday, I decided to give this massager a try. And surprise! The thing stopped working after functioning for barely 5 minutes!

So of course, I complained to my mum. This was when she gave me three words of wisdom – “Change the batteries.”

It worked. I changed the batteries and it is working perfectly well now.

Stepping into this new year, I think I need to change my batteries too, no more running on batteries from last year. It is time to ask God to renew every part of us and continue running the race for Him in the new year, with new fuel, new goals, new visions, and new expectations and new ways of doing things. To me, crossing into the new year is just like clicking the “restart” button. We can determine for ourselves in advance how we want the new year to be like! Continue to expect more from God, and like what Ps Dom preached during Watch Night Service, “The Best is Yet to Come!”
