Signs of Revival

I think the title is enough to put some thoughts into our minds?

Some of you have finished your exams and others still have major exams to clear, but regardless, this question is real isn’t it? Deep within us, we want something that is awesome, real and life changing. Some of us have been in IGNTYE for less than a year and for some, donkey years!!!

But if you really have been catching the heartbeat of IGNYTE, you will understand that it is to bring revival to this generation and beyond. What would take God to open up the rivers of revival into IGNYTE ministry? I don’t have the ready made answers but let me offer you some thoughts that may points us to signs of revival.

Jesus said in John 14:12 says we will do greater works than these. That means that we are called to do greater exploits than ever before. But to do greater works, I believe there are few things that as a child of God we must do:

Rise up to the Calling

– we must learn to surrender daily to God, allow him to work within us, change us around so that we can be ready to fulfill his purpose. We must always remember to live is Christ, to die is gain. But not just surrendering but rising up and stand counted for Jesus.

See the Unsaved as lives and not Projects

– We are not here to promote ignyte ministry, we are here to do God’s work for IGNYTE ministry. Many times, when we reach out to our friends, we see them as another project and not lives. Because of this, our attitude for reaching out often ends in disappointments and discouragements. But when you see them as precious lives, you are not worried about rejection or how many times the person has said no to you but you can persevere and believe for their salvation.

Prayers of the Saints

– We are called to rule and reign with Christ Jesus. That means we have the authority to trample over every thing that exalt itself against the knowledge of God. The WAY TO DO IT IS TO PRAY! Many of us are good in personal prayer, like ‘Lord, please help me, bless me etc..’ but revival prayers comes with the saints crying out to God saying ‘ Lord my life is yours, use me as you please, bring revival to my schools, army camps, Lord I want to see you move!’ Sometimes it takes a while for our prayers to be answered but God hears our prayer and he answers it by his divine timing!

Unity in the Body of Christ

– It is important to be united on one purpose and in one spirit. The church in the book of Acts Chapter 2 displays all the traits of unity. They were of one heart, they were outward looking and not inward looking. They encourage one another, motivate one another. Because of that, the bible records that many were added daily to the church! If we learn to love one another, accept each other weakness and grow each other in our faith in God, we will be able to be a strong voice to the world.

These are not exhaustive of course but this is how I feel for ignyte ministry right now. For those who are in holidays, I want you to consider how you can spend your time effectively for God and allow him to use you. When you go for outings with friends in your school, how you can invite them to church. For those who are having exams, consider how you can be a blessing to your classmates and friends.

IGNYTE warriors, let’s us not lose track of the vision but march forward and believe for greater things! Amen??

It always touches me how God uses the small, the weak, the least significant things/people to do His most amazing and powerful works and miracles. (1 Cor 1:27)

Recently, one of these miracles that impacted me greatly is one that is very close to my heart, or rather, my stomach. Haha…it is about food.

While listening to Corrinne May’s latest album, the lyrics of “Five Loaves & Two Fishes” was a big reminder for me. During that season, I was going through road blocks in my life and they seemed impossible to overcome. Sometimes I would just cry myself to sleep (yes, I do cry), because the hurt and the pain I experienced made me feel so small and insignificant. It seemed that nothing I do matters anymore. Slowly, I begin to feel the fire and passion within me die out.

But as I listened to the chorus…

Take my five loaves and two fishes
Do with it as you will
I surrender
Take my fears and my inhibitions
All my burdens, my ambitions
You can use it all
To feed them all / I hope it's not too small / You can use it all

… a small lump formed in my throat, and before I could control myself, tears were streaming down. It is just so true. So what if I’m small? So what if I’m insignificant?? If God can use a boy’s lunch to meet the needs for over 5000 men, women and children, what more can He do with my life? All I have to do is to present myself to God and let Him do the rest. Why do I have to worry that what I am doing may mean nothing? 5 loaves and 2 fishes are probably nothing to thousands of hungry people, but in God’s hands, they fed the thousands till everyone ate their fill. A friend once reminded me, “We are not saviors of the world, but our God is.”
So let’s just leave everything in His mighty hands.

I often think about that boy
When I am feeling small
And I worry that the work I do
Means nothing at all
But every single tear I cry
Is a diamond in His hands
And every door that slams in my face
I will offer up in prayer
So I'll give you every breath I have
Oh Lord, you can work miracles
All you need is my "Amen"

The coolest thing happened at service last week!! Not very ordinary..... and... cool! =D heh.

Was on stage when P.Gary asked us to fix our eyes on the screen.

Since my view to the screen's kinda...blocked, i just kinda swept my eyes across the chapel la, looking through darkness for nothingness hahahha. Thennnnnnnnn, suddenly i saw heads bobbing up&down, and again, there on the corner of my eye i see some MORE heads sailing through the aisles! All these..in the midst of *KABOOM*s and *BANG*s and machine gun shots. Later at almost a blink of the eye, i saw that lights were on some of those fierce looking men pointing their rifles on some of the folks!!! rawrrrrrrrrrr! There was even this guy who was pointing right at P.Gary la! Then..everyone left just as soon as they came.

Just as everyone was buzzing around, wondering what was going on, our lively host came in with COOL NEWS!!!! C.A.M.P!!!!!!

One annoying thing though .... camp, army men, surprise "attack".... what has camp got to do with the setting just now? And what was all that about?! HMMMMMM.................... Arhhh.... ohwells! Ha~

But hey, i must say though, it was pretty cool to have a feel of those funky army-fying stuff.. *grin*. =D
