SHOUT BOX!

my mommy made me breakfast the other day, and just when i was about to devour it, i realized, EH?! THERE'S A MYSTERIOUS FACE ON MY OMELET?! and it looked just as surprised as though it was saying "GASP?! AM I GOING TO BE EATEN?!" haha! *burp* well...no prizes for guessing what happened to my friendly egg face.

And just in case you think the exams are driving you nuts, and you're seeing strange things on your omelets, or on your toasts, or your alphabet cereal is forming strange messages to you, do know that you're going to be alright. (:

Remember Isaiah 40:13
But those who wait on the Lord
shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings like eagles,
they shall run and not be weary,
they shall walk and not faint.

so in the midst of your exams, remember to wait on God. Spend time with Him and you will be renewed.

Hang in there guys! (:

The other day I had dinner with a few close friends and while walking back to the car, (their car, not mine), I saw this sign that really amused me. It said, Area of Refuge. And I was like huh? What a name, and why would they call this particular place in the carpark the place of refuge?

Ok, honestly, I have no idea, so if you do know, please tag on the tagboard to tell me. Hahaha..

But it reminded me so much of my own place of refuge. The word refuge to me is like a place where I can just run away to hide from whatever is pursuing me. Maybe its work, maybe its like people, maybe its like all these expectations, maybe its like family, maybe its like… the list goes on and on, but in this place of refuge, I can head in and just be myself. I don't have to pretend to be someone else I'm not. I can leave all the troubles outside, and for that moment, in my refuge, I will find strength. I will find peace. I will find that though its crazy out there, I'll be fine.

Psalm 46:1
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.

Perhaps right now, you feel that you're letting go of God, but may I encourage you, to run back to this refuge. May I encourage you to hold onto the Hope giver. May I encourage you to continually run back to this refuge, and that is God. His arms are ever ready to catch you and ever ready to hold you and strengthen you. And don't under estimate the power of this refuge either.

so in the midst of your exams, hang in there guys. and know that your leaders are praying with you!!!!

today i'm having juice for lunch!

then you'll look at me and think, aiyoh! diet ah sis raine?! hahaha! NO! sis raine never diets. Or rather i hope i don't ever have to diet. But today i'm fasting for can't let go. The worship experience this coming saturday. The whole worship team is embarking on a one meal fast to pray and really hungering after God. Fasting has never been easy for me, because i'm the world's biggest foodie ever. I don't eat a lot at one sitting, but i eat lots of small meals all along the way. So i can be walking along say orchard road and i'll pick up like a pretzel from auntie anne's then a doughnut from this donut store, some yaki tori, and maybe a beard papa, and then i'll end if off with the cheap and good roadside ice cream. And yes yes, it carries on! haha!

BUT, i also understand that there is power in fasting and prayer. Its like a total reliance on God. And now my tummy is seriously growling, but you know what? i just feel that this worship experience will be something awesome and something different. And i'm absolutely ravenous for God. Like how you keep thinking of food when you're like in class and recess is just one period away and then your stomach is growling and you look at the clock and it seems to slow down so much so that one minute feels like a million years, and then you catch a whiff of that lovely smell of....mmmm.. fried chicken wings... or just food. suddenly you start to drool and all you can think of is, "MOVE FASTER CLOCK!!!!!!!! I WANNA EAT!!!!!" and similarly, for this worship experience as i fast, all i can think about is, COME ON!!!!!I WANT MORE OF JESUS!!!

I don't want it to be just the same old worship experience. I want something fresh. And i'm believing that it'll be a different one. Believe and expect with me friends! Come expecting a huge great mighty move from God!

Pray along side with the worship & tech team too. And let's not forget our Pastor Gary!!!!!

And come desperate. Come ravenous. Come ready to meet with the King of Kings and the Lord of lords. Come expecting stuff. And bring a friend who's starving in the spirit.

You never know what might happen!!!!!

How many of you love to worship God? Say a loud amen!!!!! As we approach ‘Can’t let Go’ worship experience, I believe it going to be an amazing time of really encountering God in an intimate manner. Worship is more than just singing songs and jumping around. That is our expression of our worship but the essence of worship comes from the heart within us that desires to meet God in a special way.

When we gave our worship to him, you are declaring your love for him, that itself is a very powerful act unto God. The question is why worship is so important to God?

Some of the people gave their definition of worship on certain ideas. They have thoughts that maybe God needs some affirmation so better sing song so that he will feel loved or maybe we feel that our God has egoistic nature that demands us to give him the worship. It is strange that how different people view worship as.

But really, God is neither in the place of needing affirmation or has some ego issues.

The truth of the matter is He is the Creator and we are his Creation and we have been purposed to give him our praise and adoration to Him. We give him our whole heart worship because of what He has done in our lives. We give him whole heart worship because we have been saved by his grace through Jesus Christ. Worship brings our focus on who He is in our lives and guess what? He desires to pour out his wonderful love into our lives so that we can experience and encounter him in a very intimate manner.

Because we have experienced his faithfulness and his love over our lives, we will never let of go of his promises for us. We will never let go of him because He is the way, the truth and the life. I always tell this to my guys, your degree of passion will determine the power of the worship you will have.

So ignyters, whether we have worship experience or not, let’s learn to give him the best worship in our homes and church! See you soon round the corner.

Can’t Let Go!

P.Gary
